Ramona mentioned this clip during her session with us so I wanted to post it (go to 53:26). Frankie Manning often spoke of how close he was with Ella Fitzgerald. They spent a lot of time together during his years at the Savoy where she was in the house band, and they were only 3 years apart in age. He used to affectionately call her "sis". It's no wonder with all her time at the Home of Happy Feet that she could hit that 8 count at a moment's notice 30+ years later.

Okay how could be have a "dance inspiration blog" without posting this amazing number by Frida Segerdahl and Sakarias Larsson from Sweden. They won the International Lindy Hop Championships' Invitational Classic division with this just a few weeks ago and Peter and I are totally in love with the piece, their dancing, the whole thing. I talked a little about Sake in this previous post and I'm so happy that he and Frida decided to put this together during quarantine. One of the best things to come out of 2020 in my opinion :)
